Group Therapy at Kids+

Our group therapy programs, which run during school term and holidays, each have a particular focus or theme . They are goal directed to ensure they meet individual needs and take place in an encouraging, relaxed, learning environment. Benefits of group therapy can include:

  • Learning and practising socials skills

  • Imitating of life scenarios such as playing at a friends house or attending school

  • Creating and developing friendships with peers

  • Making progress on goals one step at a time

Termly Groups

Term 4, 2025

  • Thursdays 10:15am

    Age: 0 to 4 years – Partially tube fed/exploring solids  

    Grab your favourite teddy and come join us for our Teddy Bears Picnic! Facilitated by an Occupational Therapist and Speech Pathologist, this weekly group aims to provide safe and fun food experiences for little people who have had an interrupted start to solids. Suitable for babies and toddlers with feeding tubes or recently weaned. This fun, interactive playgroup follows the SOS approach to feeding in a relaxed and playful setting!

  • Wednesdays at 10:15am

    Age: 12 - 18 months

    This OT and speech therapy led group is around supporting sensory development and play whilst building in social communication with like-minded peers. A change of clothes is recommended!

  • Tuesdays 10.15am 

    Age: Primary School (Prep to grade 2) 

    This is an OT and speech therapy led group that focuses on social games with friends involving movement-based games and tabletop games. This aims to support turn taking, waiting and working as a team. All-important skills for starting kindergarten.

  • When: Wednesdays 4pm

    Where: Landy Field, 230 Swanston Street, South Geelong LINK HERE

    Age: All ages, all abilities

    This physiotherapy led group will be a joint program with coaches from Chilwell athletics club.  Open to kids 5 years and older, with all abilities including use of frame running.  If you would like to improve your running for general fitness or explore all athletics disciplines running, throwing and jumping then this group it for you.

  • Thursdays at 2pm

    Age: Teenage

    This program provides a supportive and relaxed environment for individuals to participate in conversations using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to express their thoughts and opinions.

School Holiday Program

Term 3, 2025

Week One

  • READ THE FLYER

    When: Tuesday 8th - Thursday 10th July

    Duration: 9:30am -11am

    Location: Kids+

    Age: Primary school aged

    This group, run by an Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist, will explore planning, planting and having fun and is a wonderful introduction into the world of accessible gardening. Kids will be encouraged to plan out what they will plant, think about the seasons and conditions needed, set up garden beds, plant seedlings and work as a team. This group is a different way for kids to learn new skills & work towards their individual goals, whilst fostering connections with other young people. All kids will also get something to take home themselves, to continue their learning and interest.

Week Two

  • When: Monday 14th July - Thursday 17th July

    Duration: tbc

    Location: Kids+

    Age: All ages

    The Kids+ Wheely Fun Program is an intensive therapy program that supports young people to move themselves using powered devices.

    This program offers evidence based intervention, with 1:1 therapy with a physiotherapist or OT, in a group format with other young people, creating opportunities for peer modelling, social interactions and fun.
