What Is AAConnect Online?
AAC Connect Online is a flexible online training program designed to help people supporting AAC users build their knowledge, skills and confidence.
The program provides practical strategies for using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in everyday situations, helping communication partners create more opportunities for meaningful connection and participation.
Whether you are a family member, carer, support worker, educator or allied health professional, AAC Connect Online provides accessible learning to help you better support an AAC user’s communication journey.
What You’ll Learn
AAC Connect Online will help you:

How It Works
AAC Connect Online combines flexible online learning with practical support to help you build your AAC knowledge and confidence.
1. Choose your learning option
Select the self-paced course or the course with five live Zoom tutorials.
2. Complete the online learning
Work through the course content at your own pace and explore practical AAC strategies you can apply in everyday situations.
3. Join live tutorials (Option 2 only)
Connect with AAC specialists during five live Zoom sessions to ask questions, discuss examples and deepen your learning.

AAC Connect Online offers flexible learning options depending on the level of support you need. Choose the self-paced course for independent learning, or add live tutorials for additional guidance from AAC specialists.
AAC Connect Online: Self-Paced Course
This option is ideal for people who want to learn at their own pace and apply practical AAC strategies in everyday situations.
You will have access to:

✓ Practical strategies to support AAC use
✓ Guidance on becoming a more confident communication partner
✓ Resources to support your ongoing AAC learning
✓ Flexible access to complete the course in your own time

AAC Connect Online: Self-Paced Course + Live Tutorials
This option includes everything in the self-paced course, plus opportunities to connect with AAC specialists and other learners through live tutorials.
You will have access to:
✓ 10 hours of self-paced online learning course content
✓ 5 live tutorial sessions with AAC specialists
✓ Opportunities to ask questions and discuss real-world experiences
✓ Connection with other families, carers and professionals
✓ Additional support applying AAC strategies in practice
Cost: $1,350

AAConnect Online FAQ

A flexible online training program that helps people supporting AAC users build their knowledge, skills and confidence. It gives practical strategies for using AAC in everyday situations, so communication partners can create more opportunities for connection and participation.

Family members, carers, support workers, educators and allied health professionals who support someone who uses AAC. You don’t need to know anything about AAC before you start.

You’ll learn strategies to support AAC use and to become a more confident communication partner. You’ll get a better understanding of AAC systems and devices, and how to support communication across everyday situations. You’ll also find reliable AAC resources and connect with others who are learning too.

Option 1 (Self-Paced, $400) gives you about 10 hours of online learning to complete in your own time. Option 2 (Self-Paced + Live Tutorials, $1,350) includes everything in Option 1, plus five live tutorials with AAC specialists. In the tutorials you can ask questions, discuss real examples and connect with other families, carers and professionals.

The online learning is about 10 hours, and you can work through it at your own pace. Access lasts 12 months.

There are five tutorials, held on Thursdays from 1:30pm to 3pm. Dates will be provided upon registration. They run on Zoom and in person at Kids+, and tutorials are recorded for people who can’t attend.

The AAConnect Online team, made up of Kids+ speech pathologists and an allied health assistant.
