AAConnect Online: AAC Training for Families and Carers
Kids+ Foundation invites you to join AAConnect Online, a flexible program designed to deepen your understanding of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and empower you to better support the AAC user in your life.
Delivered entirely online, AAConnect combines self-paced learning with live group sessions so you can build your skills and confidence without having to leave home.
What Is AAConnect Online?
AAConnect Online is a structured course for parents, carers, support workers, and anyone who plays a role in the life of a child or young person who uses AAC. Whether your AAC user relies on a speech-generating device or a communication book, this program will help you become a more effective and confident communication partner. There are two course options:
Option 1: AAConnect Online (Self-Paced)
Option 2: AAConnect Online + 5 Live Tutorials
AAConnect Online Program Options
This option involves accessing approximately 10 hours of online content, including videos, readings, and interactive activities.
Self-paced and flexible across the year
You will have ongoing access to the course for the year
Includes interactive activities to help apply your learning
Cost: $400

This option includes the full online course plus five live online (or in person at Kids+ depending on preferences) tutorials.

Time: 9:30am – 11:00am
Dates: 15 October, 29 October, 12 November, 26 November, 10 December

What You'll Learn
You will gain practical strategies and knowledge to meaningfully support your AAC user, including how to:
Develop strategies to support AAC use and grow as a communication partner
Increase your understanding of your AAC user's systems and devices
Help your AAC user communicate a range of words and language functions — from saying hello to asking questions

Share experiences, challenges, and wins with a like-minded peer community
How It Works
The online content is self-paced and takes approximately 10 hours to complete. If you choose option 2, you will also join five live Zoom tutorial sessions of 1.5 hours each.
AAConnect Online is delivered by Kids+ AAC Coordinators and Speech Pathologists, Rachel Harkin & Molly White - experienced professionals passionate about helping families unlock the power of AAC.
