Kids+ Advisory Groups – Share Experiences, Shape Services
Kids+ Advisory Groups – Your Voice Shapes What We Do
At Kids+, we believe the people who know our services best are the families and participants who experience them firsthand. That's why we've created the Kids+ Advisory Groups: a formal, paid opportunity for parents, carers, and current or former participants to share their feedback directly and help us improve.
Your Experience Is Invaluable
No one understands the needs of children with disabilities and their families better than the people living it every day. The insights, ideas, and honest feedback that parents, carers, and participants bring to our Advisory Groups have already led to real, positive changes at Kids+. These are changes that simply wouldn't have happened without the community's involvement.
How It Works
Advisory Groups typically meet three to four times a year at the Kids+ centre, with each session running for 1.5 hours. To recognise the value of your time and contribution, all attendees are reimbursed at an hourly rate through our Paid Participation policy.
Participants range from parents and carers to current and former Kids+ clients, all coming together to provide direct feedback on our programs, services, and the way we work.
Benefits Beyond the Room
For parents and carers, the groups offer a valuable chance to connect with others who understand your experience. For young people and participants, involvement builds confidence and advocacy skills, creates meaningful connections, and provides real-world experience that can be added to a resume.
