Anula Costa at Kids+ Sports Skills Program
Kids+ are excited to announce our partnership with Anula Costa, a High Performance Coach based in Geelong and the recipient of this year's Peter Norman Humanitarian Award. This award recognises Anula's dedication to inclusion, diversity, and empowerment through sports - what a wonderful fit for Kids+!
Anula will be joining our Sports Skills group, which focuses on developing strength and coordination for running and agility through athletics and soccer-based activities. The group will also connect with community-based programs, providing opportunities for future participation in local organisations.
Kids+ Tek Launches
Kids+ announces the launch of Kids+ Tek, a unique, technology-focused platform that provides resources and tools for people with disabilities, particularly AAC* users.
Kids+ Tek is a desktop-based online forum where people with disabilities can discuss and share information on the best tech devices and software. Users share their setup** with others, providing insight and reviews into what equipment and devices they recommend, and read the latest tech news. There is also a forum where people can connect, knowing they are not alone on their journey.
Changemakers Conference Launches
Changemakers challenge perceptions, open minds, and create positive social change for our communities, our country, and our world. Kids+ is pleased to invite and welcome you to the 3rd Kids+ Changemakers Conference hosted in Torquay, traditional lands of the Wadawurrung people, 4-5 September 2025.
Kids+ Scholarship: Jake Richardson’s Story
The formidable Jake Richardson is the first recipient of the Kids+ education/employment scholarship . The scholarship has helped to provide Jake with two-day a week employment at Bellarine Secondary College for 12 months.. Hot off the press: Kids+ is a partner on a 5-year NHMRC Partnership Project Grant
Kids+ is a partner on 5-year NHMRC Partnership Project Grant for the research project “Linking young people with disability to participation through cycling: implementation and evaluation of the co-designed CycLink program" led by Dr Rachel Toovey from the University of Melbourne.
Surf Coast Trek 2024: Over 1200 joined in record-breaking event
The 2024 Surf Coast Trek is set to break its fundraising records with over 1,200 trekkers signing up for the event held on Saturday 13 April 2024. This is the highest number of participants in its nine-year history.
Sarah Foley, Kids+ Co-Founder, awarded OAM
Kids+ was delighted to hear the news that Sarah Foley, one of the co-founders of Kids+, was awarded an OAM at the recent 2023 Australia Day honours. Sarah is the most deserving of recipients.
