Kids+ Tek Launches
Kids+ announces the launch of Kids+ Tek, a unique, technology-focused platform that provides resources and tools for people with disabilities, particularly AAC* users.
Kids+ Tek is a desktop-based online forum where people with disabilities can discuss and share information on the best tech devices and software. Users share their setup** with others, providing insight and reviews into what equipment and devices they recommend, and read the latest tech news. There is also a forum where people can connect, knowing they are not alone on their journey.
Kids+ Tek Creator Noah Callan says, "As a person with a disability, finding yourself in a new or unfamiliar situation online can be overwhelming, particularly when using AAC, and it can be difficult to know what equipment is best for your needs. With Kids+ Tek, you can access a wealth of knowledge and experience directly from other users, including what equipment they use and how they use it."
Kids+ Marketing Manager Sharon Gibbons said, "Tek is an original concept, created by Noah. Nowhere else in the Australian digital market can you find a platform where people can share setups, find the latest information on assistive technology, converse via forum, and explore gaming accessories.”
“Until the end of 2025, users can join as a 'Founding Member’, receiving a free 12-month membership. Founding Members will be integral to the success of Tek. What Noah has created is a community, a sense of belonging, for people with disabilities in the online space.”
“Kids+ Tek has the potential to take the AAC world by storm, genuinely improving the online experience for people with disabilities."
*AAC stands for Alternative and Augmentative Communication. It supports people's use of methods in addition to or instead of speech to communicate. They may use sign language, body movements or gestures, communication books, computers, or tablets.
** A user's personal 'setup' can include anything from their disability to their gaming console to their mounting system (wheelchair setup). This information has the power to help someone else who may be in a similar situation. Every contribution helps others navigate the complex world of AAC and gaming equipment.
