Hot off the press: Kids+ is a partner on a 5-year NHMRC Partnership Project Grant

We’re thrilled to share that Kids+ is a partner on a 5-year NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) Partnership Project Grant for the research project “Linking young people with disability to participation through cycling: implementation and evaluation of the co-designed CycLink program" led by Dr Rachel Toovey from the University of Melbourne.

The CycLink Program was co-designed with families and cross-sector practitioners to address participation barriers. CycLink combines 3 key elements: a group program, co-delivered by therapists and local cycling club coaches; opportunities to trial assistive cycling technologies; and an online resource for families. This 5-year program of research will

(i)  refine program elements through further co-design;

(ii)  implement CycLink in 4 regions across metropolitan and regional Victoria, including at Kids+, in collaboration with partners across health, disability, sport, local government, and education

and

(iii)  evaluate CycLink using a hybrid effectiveness design, including a randomised trial and economic evaluation, to address reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance. For more information click here.

Kids+ Physiotherapist Louise Daniels and Kids+ Research Coordinator Dr Anna Urbanowicz will be involved in delivering this project which will be kicking off later this year.
