Kids+ Research Program: Publications & Findings
Kids+ Research Publications – Evidence That Drives Better Practice
At Kids+, our commitment to evidence-based practice means the work we do in therapy rooms and community programs is informed by rigorous, peer-reviewed research. This page brings together the published research outputs from the Kids+ research program, led by Research Coordinator Dr Anna Urbanowicz.
Our Published Research
Our research spans early intervention, family-centred practice, developmental follow-up, and the lived experiences of children with disabilities and their families. Each publication reflects our commitment to producing knowledge that is relevant, community-informed, and directly applicable to the young people and families we serve.
A recent publication in Frontiers in Pediatrics examined the Kids+ Parent Infant Program (PIP) — a community model for supporting partnerships in early developmental follow-up and support. The paper, authored by Reynolds, Urbanowicz, Mayston, and Foley (2024), highlights how the PIP model strengthens collaboration between families and health professionals during the critical early years of a child's development. Research Grounded in Community
What sets Kids+ research apart is its foundation in lived experience. Our studies are shaped in partnership with young people, parents, carers, and the broader disability community — ensuring the questions we ask, and the answers we find, reflect what actually matters to the families we work with.
