Welcome to our newest team member – George

When George and his family – who includes mum and dad Jacqui and Todd, and siblings Sara, William and Lachlan - started coming to Kids Plus many years ago, little did George know that he would be one day working for the organisation.George starting working for Kids Plus this year and spends his time in the centre assisting with duties such as cleaning toys and equipment after use, laminating, cutting and gluing, sorting the toys to make sure they’re ready for the next visitors and most essentially, charging equipment.George also works for St Joseph’s College in Geelong where he finished year 12 in 2019.George manoeuvres his way around the offices with ease in his motorised chair that Kids Plus recently helped him acquire, and sometimes uses a stander when working at Joeys. In between his duties with Kids Plus, George loves nothing better than chatting to all the staff and sharing his news and stories of what he loves – favourite foods, going shopping and dancing – something he did a lot of when he celebrated his 18th birthday! George uses his communication device attached to his wheelchair to share his messages. There is no doubt that the therapists and staff at Kids Plus love having George around too – his cheeky and fun personality is so engaging!
